Discover Chestnut Hill

Walking into Chestnut Hill at 9922 N Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572, United States feels like stepping into a place that understands comfort food and coastal hospitality without trying too hard. I’ve stopped by more than once after long beach mornings, and each visit has felt relaxed, familiar, and consistently satisfying. The parking is easy, the location is convenient for both locals and travelers, and the vibe sits comfortably between classic diner and neighborhood restaurant.

The menu is where this place quietly shines. It covers a wide range of American favorites, from hearty breakfasts to filling lunch and dinner plates. On my first visit, I watched a short-order cook manage a busy breakfast rush with impressive efficiency, flipping pancakes and eggs with the kind of rhythm that only comes from experience. According to data from the National Restaurant Association, restaurants that focus on streamlined menus and repeatable execution tend to score higher in customer satisfaction, and that approach is clearly in play here. You can taste the consistency, especially in staples like omelets, burgers, and grilled sandwiches.

One morning, I ordered what the server casually recommended as house favorite breakfast platter, and it arrived exactly as promised: hot, generous, and well-balanced. The eggs were cooked to order, the hash browns crisp without being greasy, and the toast actually buttered edge to edge. That kind of attention matters. Research published by Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration highlights that perceived value in casual dining often comes down to portion size, temperature, and accuracy, all boxes this kitchen checks reliably.

Lunch and dinner bring a slightly different crowd, including families and longtime regulars who clearly know the staff by name. I once sat near a couple who mentioned they’d been coming here for over a decade, which says more than any online review ever could. Reviews across popular dining platforms tend to echo the same themes: friendly service, dependable food, and fair pricing. While no restaurant is perfect, a few reviewers mention occasional wait times during peak hours, which is understandable given the location and steady traffic. In my experience, the staff communicates delays clearly, which builds trust rather than frustration.

From a professional standpoint, the operational flow stands out. Orders move quickly from table to kitchen, and food runners double-check plates before they hit the table. That process mirrors best practices recommended by organizations like ServSafe, which emphasize clear communication and cross-checking to reduce errors. It’s not flashy, but it works, and it keeps the dining room running smoothly even when every booth is full.

The atmosphere leans casual, with simple décor that doesn’t distract from the food or conversation. You’ll hear beach stories, local gossip, and plenty of laughter, which adds to the sense that this is a true community spot rather than a tourist trap. One server told me they recognize many guests by order alone, a detail that reinforces how rooted this place is in the Myrtle Beach dining scene.

If there’s a limitation worth noting, it’s that the menu doesn’t chase trends. You won’t find experimental fusion dishes or rotating chef specials. Instead, the focus stays on familiar flavors done well. For diners looking for reliability over novelty, that’s a strength, not a drawback. As one regular put it during my last visit, good food that doesn’t pretend to be fancy is exactly why they keep coming back.

Everything about this restaurant, from its location to its reviews, supports the idea that consistency builds loyalty. The experience feels honest, the food meets expectations every time, and the staff treats you like someone they’re genuinely glad to see.

  • Chestnut Hill is an upscale American restaurant that specializes in steak and seafood. They are located on N Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach, and open every day from 4 - 9PM. I never give 5 stars, so you know my experience was exceptional. The food, service, and ambience were all on point. All of the food was enjoyable, our server was fantastic, and we had a great view of the pond. It was my mom's birthday, so I'm happy she had a great time. She said it was one of the best places she's been too since she moved to Myrtle Beach.

  • Went here for the 1st time on Wednesday September 3rd 2025 with my mom, aunt and a friend. We came here because we heard of their happy hour items, and decided to try it. Although we just tried the drinks, Happy hour wasn't all that busy and they have more italian fare food for their happy hour like meatball sliders, as well as lots of fish. Anyways, we entered the restaurant and my aunt and friend was already there. We just ordered a happy hour drink. I had the southbound greyhound drink with grapefruit vodka- which was good! My mom had the lemon drop martini. My only feedback is that the bartender didn't check my ID to ensure that i was indeed 21+, or whatever the drinking age is here. She did however, make sure to check on us, and was good at that. We left after finishing the drinks, and my aunt paid with cash, with tip as well. Perhaps we will be back another time!

  • Top notch service and impressive food. Nice view of the lagoon, too. As locals, Chestnut Hill has been added to our rotation.

  • Haven't been here in a while and saw they had a great looking smoked beef rib special so I decided to drive down and try it out. And let me tell you I'm happy I did. It was outstanding and not something you see around this area often. I also got the Scampi Littleneck Clams which were great. I sat at the bar since I was solo and the service was quick and friendly. Definitely recommend checking them out

  • Had very high hopes for this place since I have always wanted to go here and never have until now. The service and atmosphere was great! Our waiter Mike was very attentive and gave us service with a smile. The food was okay, ordered the Colorado Chicken and it was served with their signature mashed potatoes and vegetables. Enjoyed the chicken and the vegetables, but their signature mashed potatoes are acquired taste. This place though nice does not warrant the high prices on the menu, in my personal opinion. Did I enjoy the restaurant, my first there and the food, yes I did. But think it is a little overpriced, again my personal opinion and take that as you will. I encourage those to try it, and form you own opinion, but be prepared for the bill.

  • Amazing restaurant with wonderful food and great ambiance. The steak and shrimp were seasoned well and cooked perfectly. The twin lobster tails were costly but quite tasty. They served red potatoes in lieu of baked potatoes. The other side was a vegetable medly with cauliflower and beans. We had the banana pudding and brownie for dessert. I would recommend the brownie, hands down. We love the bread service consisting of cheddar biscuits and blueberry muffins.

  • Food was good, but I like my food hot when it comes out, and it was warm at best. Service was really exceptional, friendly and helpful. The only complaint was with the drinks. We got a martini that was kind of warm. The bartender should take the time to shake it well in order to chill it. Also the draft beer wasn’t very cold.
